In my own educational experience the lessons I have truly learned have been from the educators with a passion for teaching. This passion is the reason I now am a teacher, to be a part of the continual learning process driven by the energy from my mentors.
As an art educator I am teaching my students the principles and elements of art, in order to equip them with the knowledge necessary to express them selves fully. In my classroom they are given new insight into the way they view the world. By means of personal expression they will come to see that art that lies in the world around them and the importance of this visual experience.
These things will be taught through various ways. Lots of hands on experience will be given through the artistic process and its forms. When students have finished their learning experience in my classroom they will be able to take these tools and create works of art to the best of their ability. They will be able to look at other works of art and critique them to enhance the experience meant for visual enactment. An art history application will be given to educate them on the history of the form and the cultures that played a huge part in works left to us at present time.
Students will be assessed through classroom critiques, and constructive criticism. Objectives will always be given and met with each student. Assessment is very importance to ensure they are fully learning the material and its process. My goal to give the students the tools they need to see the artist in themselves, and the world around them.
